Rankings & Qualifying System

Each year, athletes earn points based on their performance in One Hundred® races, categorized by age group and gender:

Age groups:

• Under 29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60+
• PCL (Physically Challenged Lottery)

At the end of the year, athletes in the top percentages of their age group achieve Elite Status:

• Gold: Top 5%
• Silver: Top 10%
• Bronze: Top 15%

How Points Are Earned

1. Performance-Based Points: Athletes earn points based on their finish time relative to the first finisher in their age group and gender.
2. Premier Bonus: Premier Series races award 10% more points than Alliance Series races, except the Grand Final, where points are equal.
3. Rate of Decline: Points decrease at a specific rate based on the time difference from the first finisher (see table below).
4. Annual Best 3 Totals: At year-end, only the three highest-scoring races for each athlete count toward their final AGR ranking.

Athletes are ranked in the following categories:

1. Overall AGR: Includes points from all distances (200 miles, 100 miles, and 100 km).
2. 200-Mile AGR: Ranks athletes based solely on 200-mile races.
3. 100-Mile AGR: Ranks athletes based solely on 100-mile races.
4. 100-KM AGR: Ranks athletes based solely on 100-km races.

Grand Final Points

• Equal points for Premier and Alliance categories.
• Bonus Points for overall AGR winners:
  • 1st Place: 3 points
  • 2nd Place: 2 points
  • 3rd Place: 1 point

Team Composition

• Teams must consist of at least 2 members, with no maximum limit.
• Teams can be:
  • Male
  • Female
  • Mixed Teams: These are ranked in the category of the gender majority or, in the case of an even split, can declare their category.
• 100-Mile AGR: Ranks athletes based solely on 100-mile races.
• 100-KM AGR: Ranks athletes based solely on 100-km races.

How Points Are Earned

1. Summit Points (SP): Earned by combining the top 2 performances of team members in each race.
2. Premier Bonus: SP in Premier Series races receive a 10% multiplier.
3. Alliance Adjustment: SP in Alliance Series races are adjusted down by 10%.
4. Rate of Decline: Points decline based on time differences at the same rates as the individual system (see above).
5. Grand Final Consistency: SP are equal for both Premier and Alliance Series teams at the Grand Final.

Team Rankings and Tiers

Teams are ranked based on total Summit Points (SP) and categorized into three tiers at year-end:

• Gold Tier: Top 5%
• Silver Tier: Next 10%
• Bronze Tier: Next 15%

Best Team Champion

The Best Team Champion title is awarded to the team whose top two performers achieve the highest combined performance at the Grand Final.

 

Qualification for Team Awards

• Teams must participate in at least two qualifying races to be eligible for awards.
• Only the top two race results per team are used to determine final standings.

The One Hundred® Endurance Trail World Championship introduces two distinct pathways to recognition: season-long rankings and Grand Final performance, ensuring that both consistent excellence and peak performance are rewarded. This distinction applies to both individual and team rankings.

Key Distinction

• Season Rankings (AGR or Summit Points):
  • These rankings are based on accumulated points throughout the season.
  • For individuals, it is determined by their top three AGR scores across the year.
  • For teams, it is determined by their top two race results in terms of Summit Points.
  • These rankings highlight consistency and overall performance during the season.
• Grand Final Champion Titles:
  • The Grand Final Champion (Individual) and Best Team Champion titles are determined solely by performance in the Grand Final race.
  • The Grand Final is a standalone event, with its results independent of prior rankings.

How It Works

1. Season Champions:
   • AGR Season Champion (Individual): Awarded to the individual with the highest AGR points based on their best three races during the season.
   • Summit Points Season Champion (Team): Awarded to the team with the highest Summit Points based on their top two race results.
2. Grand Final Champions:
   • Grand Final Champion (Individual): Awarded to the athlete with the best performance at the Grand Final race.
   • Best Team Champion: Awarded to the team whose top two performers achieve the highest combined results at the Grand Final.
3. Separate Recognition:
   • Season-long champions are recognized for their consistency across multiple events.
   • Grand Final champions are celebrated for their ability to perform at their peak in the most important race of the season.

Example Scenarios

• Individual Example:
  An athlete wins three Premier Series races during the season and secures the highest AGR ranking. At the Grand Final, they finish in 4th place, and another athlete wins the race.
  • The first athlete is crowned the AGR Season Champion for their season-long excellence.
  • The Grand Final winner is recognized as the Grand Final Champion, demonstrating their peak performance at the final race.
• Team Example:
  A team dominates the season, earning the most Summit Points by consistently finishing at the top in both Premier and Alliance Series races. At the Grand Final, another team’s top two performers outscore the dominant team.
  • The first team is recognized as the Summit Points Champion for their season-long success.
  • The second team is crowned the Best Team Champion for their outstanding Grand Final performance.
